Our responsibility

Respect for nature is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that producing anything comes at a cost to the planet and believe it’s our responsibility to minimise that impact in every way we can. Our aim is to be as sustainable as possible and we are always looking for ways to do better.

Making products to last

Longevity is fundamental to sustainability. Baea homewares are seasonless and designed to bring you joy for years to come. Manufacturing less is important too — our Collection range is made to order in small batches, thus avoiding unnecessary production and surplus.

The right materials and processes

In a throw-away society of fast fashion, the demand for cheap cotton is taking its toll. There is an alternative however, and we believe vehemently in supporting it. All our bed linen is made from 100% organic cotton.

Organic agriculture yields high quality cotton without the use of toxic pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, GMO seeds and unsustainable irrigation practices – encouraging biodiversity, food security and more equitable communities.
The right materials and processes

During the processing stage, forty percent of the water required for finishing our fabric is recuperated and reused. Furthermore, we have chosen to work with only light colours to minimize the dyes and chemicals used in the process.

Our products and packaging materials are fully biodegradable — down to the last plant-based button (each of which is made from an ingenious material called Corozo, derived from the nut of the tagua palm).

Giving back

Nature provides us with both inspiration and raw materials, so every year we like to give something back — contributing to the preservation of ecologically important sites or planet-focused causes. Whether by partnering with organizations, donating a percentage of profits, or volunteering our time, we aim to both offset part of our activities and learn more about how we can do better for the planet we call home.
