Our Essentials range is produced in the beautiful mediaeval city of Guimarães which has a long tradition of textile manufacturing.

In a factory that’s been run by the same family for three generations, raw long staple 100% organic cotton from Turkey and India is transformed into our luxuriously soft bedding. The manufacturer is committed to both quality and sustainability: 40% of water used in production is recovered.

Our product passes through the hands of highly skilled artisans at every step of the process, with spinning, weaving, dying, embroidering and finishing all happening under one roof. The company’s excellent reputation, as well as our visits to their facilities, leave us in no doubt as to the integrity of their operation.

Located in the Seriana Valley, just outside the northern city of Bergamo, is the factory that turns raw organic long staple cotton from India into the fabric that becomes our nature-inspired Collection range.

Family run for over 70 years, the factory has quality at its heart and is committed to selecting the best materials. The company has impressive sustainability credentials too, with more than 50% of the energy powering its headquarters coming from solar.

At an atelier in a scenic mountain town, a small team of skilled artisans are keeping traditional craft alive, using specialist hand-guided embroidery techniques to complete the bedding in our Collection range. This partner was chosen for its commitment to small batch production and the fastidiousness that comes with it.

In keeping with our policy of only ever using biodegradable materials, our buttons are made using corozo. Sometimes referred to as ‘vegetable ivory,’ corozo is a completely natural, durable and sustainable material made from the nut of tagua palms. This is harvested in Ecuador and transported to a family-run factory where it’s skillfully transformed into the buttons used on all our bedding.

Our Nuno throws and pillows are made in collaboration with Madda Studio in Oaxaca. The studio was founded by artist and textile designer Maddalena Forcella. Originally from Rome, Maddalena has been living in Mexico for over 25 years, working with — and learning from — small communities of traditional artisans. In 2016, together with sustainable development expert Marie Farneth, she established Madda Studio, producing rugs and homewares for the international market. Madda Studio is committed to sourcing sustainable materials, cultural preservation and supporting local economic development.
